Paul comes to Vietnam from Washington, DC, USA, where he worked as a music teacher and childcare professional for many years. He holds a degree in International Relations from Pomona College in Southern California. He has taught at summer camps and organized summer programs for children for ten years, and this will be Paul’s fourth summer with APC. In addition to his home country, Paul has lived in Russia, Australia, and the Philippines. In his spare time Paul loves surfing in the Pacific Ocean, playing five different musical instruments, and studying new languages.

Charlotte is excited to return for a second year as Program Director at APC! She comes from England and has lived and worked as an English teacher in Italy. Charlotte will be making sure that every camper has a busy, engaging schedule of activities, and she has some new evening activities planned as well. She brings experience from Camp California in Croatia and summer camps in the United States. She has been certified as a lifeguard in the US and UK, and she can speak four languages. Her favorite activities are kayaking, poi spinning, and random games!

Cameron is our Head Counselor, and this will be his fourth year with APC. Originally from South Africa, Cam has lived in Vietnam for 17 years and is fluent in Vietnamese. He is one of our most experienced counselors on the ropes course and he developed many of the programs and safety procedures we currently use. He is also a professional scuba diving instructor, working in Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. In his free time he enjoys playing all kinds of sports including basketball and rock climbing as well as playing drums. If you’re interested in ropes activities or the waterfront, you will be spending a lot of time with Cameron!

Zach is looking forward to returning to the APC family for his fourth summer in Phan Thiet! He comes all the way from Scotland, and he will be sharing his years of experience playing and coaching soccer (though he prefers to call it football). Zach has spent three years as an English teacher in Hanoi and one year directing soccer camps in the United States. His favorite activities include soccer, golf, and boogie boarding!

Alana comes from both England and New Zealand, though she currently calls New Zealand home. This will be Alana’s second summer as part of the APC family. She has traveled around Asia, working as a teacher in Hong Kong and China. Alana loves to teach surfing, kayaking, and climbing, but she also has experience with sports such as badminton, cricket, and soccer. She has also coached her own netball team. Alana has traveled to 16 countries and we are happy to welcome her to Vietnam for a summer at the beach!

She previously worked at Camp Hazen in Connecticut, and she loved the experience so much that she’s ready to share the American camp experience with children in Vietnam. Eleanor loves traveling the world, and she recently went to Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympics. She also loves making music and going to festivals. Eleanor is a certified lifeguard and a kayaking enthusiast, so if you love to be in the water, you’re going to see a lot of Eleanor this summer!

We have many Irish counselors this summer, but only one who is fluent in the Irish language! Tomás is coming to APC from his native Ireland for his first summer of fun at the beach, and he has worked at summer camps at home teaching traditional Irish language and culture. Tomás has also coached rugby and soccer, and he also enjoys some uniquely Irish sports like Gaelic football and hurling. Tomás also likes woodworking and set design, so you will see him teaching many different activities this summer!

Ivan spent last summer teaching archery at a big camp in Canada, and this summer he’s decided to help us bring summer camp to Vietnam! Ivan studies mechanical engineering in his home country of Ireland, and when he’s not studying he loves to travel and be in the outdoors. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity building houses in Romania, and he also works with a club in Dublin, helping people with disabilities experience the joy of kayaking.
