Paul comes to Vietnam from Washington, DC, USA, where he worked as a music teacher and childcare professional for many years. He holds a degree in International Relations from Pomona College in Southern California, and he is a certified lifeguard, surf coach, and English teacher. He has taught at summer camps and organized summer programs for children for twelve years, and this will be Paul’s sixth summer with APC. In addition to his home country, Paul has lived in Russia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. In his spare time, Paul loves surfing in the Pacific Ocean, playing five different musical instruments, and studying new languages.

Bethan is from England – this will be her fourth summer with APC, and her first summer leading the team as Program Director. She has worked as a schoolteacher and netball coach in her home country, and she has a degree in Sport Science. Bethan is especially passionate about team sports and special education. Bethan’s love of travel has also taken her to Thailand, Ghana, Hong Kong, Turkey, the Philippines and many other countries. Her other favorite APC activities include badminton and gymnastics. If you love to play sports, you will definitely get a chance to meet Bethan this summer!

This will be Cam’s sixth year with APC, and his second year leading APC On Tour, our new adventure program for older campers. Originally from South Africa, Cam has lived in Vietnam for 17 years and is fluent in Vietnamese. He is one of our most experienced counselors on the ropes course and he developed many of the programs and safety procedures we currently use. He is also a professional scuba diving instructor, working in Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. In his free time, he enjoys playing all kinds of sports including basketball and rock climbing as well as playing drums. If you wake up early in the morning, you might see Cam heading off to do a speed run around the ropes course!

Zach is looking forward to returning to the APC family for his sixth summer in Phan Thiet! He will be leading the team of counselors throughout the summer, and leading campers who are exploring southern Vietnam as an APC On Tour counselor. Zach comes all the way from Scotland, and he will be sharing his years of experience playing and coaching soccer (though he prefers to call it football). Zach has spent four years as an English teacher in Hanoi and one-year directing soccer camps in the United States. His favorite activities include soccer, golf, and boogie boarding!

Luke is experienced with water sports and archery, but he especially loves to teach high ropes, guiding campers through climbing and pushing their comfort zone on the ropes course. He also competes in motocross (dirt bike racing) and loves to work in any leadership role with young people. This will be Luke’s first summer at the beach with APC!

Mykala also enjoys archery and high ropes, and she’ll be bringing those skills to our campers at the beach!

He loves camp because of the wonderful memories and unforgettable experiences it creates. He worked at a YMCA camp in Maine last summer, and now he’ll be joining us in Vietnam!

He grew up on Hayling Island, and he loves any waterfront activities. He can also teach Wilderness Survival to campers who want to learn fire building, shelter building, or raft construction. Tom enjoys climbing and leading campers on a high ropes course, and he also works as a German translator in his spare time. As a Scout and Rover, he learned wilderness survival, and he will help our campers this summer as they build fires, design shelters, and learn techniques of living in nature. He also enjoys archery and photography, and you will probably see him kayaking or swimming too. Vojtech likes the unconventional travel and work lifestyle, getting to know different cultures around the world as a participant, not just an observer. He has worked as a teacher in schools in Nepal and Ecuador, and now he will bring his talents to Vietnam for a summer at the beach!
