Junior Lifeguards

The Junior Lifeguards activity is for campers who want to learn the basics of water safety, first aid and rescue, swimming technique, and waterfront fitness. Campers will learn how to perform CPR and compete in relay races that involve both swimming and running on the beach. In the first few days of the course (Monday – Wednesday), campers will learn how to swim properly, how to spot a distressed or tired swimmer in the water, how to use a rescue tube to move through the water, and how to stay fit with endurance training, stretching and aerobic exercises. In the second half of the course, campers will learn CPR lifesaving techniques, practice rescues using the rescue tube, and participate in races on land and in water to test the skills they have learned. Throughout the course, games and competitions will be included to make the course exciting and challenging for campers of all ages.
